Job summary

WSP is seeking a Full Time Civil/Structural Engineering (Transmission Lines) Intern for Overland Park, KS next Summer to join our 12-week program starting May 17, 2027. This internship is for students currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program and offers mentorship, hands-on experience, and exposure to real projects.

During the internship you will support transmission line engineering tasks, learn fundamentals of transmission line design, use PLS CADD and aerial imagery,

Qualifications

Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
Interest in transmission lines and willingness to develop related skills.

Responsibilities

Support engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
Learn basic principles of Transmission Line Engineering.
Assist in transmission line design for installations, relocations, upgrades.
Use PLS CADD modeling and aerial imagery to map transmission line routes.
Collaborate with utility stakeholders and construction partners.
Create professional drawings and procurement materials for construction.
