Job summary

WSP USA invites you to join its Lakewood, CO office as a Full-Time Civil Engineering (Transmission) Intern for a 12-week summer program. The internship offers hands-on exposure, mentorship, and real project experience alongside senior staff.

Ideal candidates are undergrad or graduate students in civil engineering with a passion for power delivery projects, strong communication, and a commitment to safety. Start May 17, 2027, with no relocation or housing assistance provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Civil Engineering and a desire to advance skills related to WSP’s projects.
• Interpersonal and professional communication skills with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Uphold workplace safety and abide by WSP safety policies.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Civil Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
