Job summary

WSP Global Inc. seeks a Full Time Civil/Structural Engineering (Transmission Lines) Intern for next Summer at our Maitland, FL office. The 12-week program starts May 17, 2027, with flexible start date.

The internship offers exposure to real projects alongside senior staff within WSP’s Summer Internship Program. Responsibilities include learning transmission line design, using PLS CADD and aerial imagery, and collaborating with utility stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in Civil/Mechanical Engineering program with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Demonstrated interest in transmission lines or related field and desire to grow in WSP's projects.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and technology.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Transmission Line Engineering.
• Participate in transmission line design for new installations, relocations, upgrades, and fiber optic enhancements.
• Use PLS CADD Modeling software and aerial imagery to map transmission line routes.
• Collaborate with utility stakeholders and construction partners.
• Gain expertise in model design, material procurement, and creation of professional drawings for construction.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and related policies.
