Job summary

Quanta Government Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer for Transmission Line projects. You will oversee high voltage infrastructure design, providing oversight to the design team and engineering support for EPC proposals.

The ideal candidate has a strong civil, mechanical, or electrical background with HV line or substation project experience and will engage with clients and regulators to ensure safe, compliant, and cost-effective outcomes.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil/Structural Engineering degree.
• Minimum 5 years in electric utility industry with HV substation or transmission experience.
• PE license required.
• Strong knowledge across structural/civil/electrical/mechanical engineering.
• Experience in supporting external customers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion: planning, design, permitting, construction support, closeout.
• Review calculations, drawings, and specs for substations or transmission lines.
• Ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with cost-effective solutions.
• Verify compliance with local, state, and federal regs including environmental and safety rules.
• Coordinate with agencies, contractors, and the public for project success.
• Maintain high-quality workmanship and material standards through QC.
• Prepare and maintain detailed project status reports and records.
• Take personal responsibility for quality and accuracy of work.
• Other duties as assigned
