Job summary

Grant County PUD is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to lead design, development, and maintenance of transmission infrastructure across its Power Delivery organization in Central Washington.

The role involves supporting major expansion projects, improving system reliability, and ensuring safe power delivery. Required qualifications include a PE license, PLS-CADD/AutoCAD skills, and experience with large-scale transmission projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Engineer IV: 6+ years of transmission engineering experience
• Engineer V: 10+ years of transmission engineering experience
• Experience with transmission systems, substations, and utility equipment
• PE license and EIT certification
• PLS-CADD and AutoCAD proficiency
• Experience leading large-scale transmission capital projects

Responsibilities

• Lead transmission engineering design efforts and capital project execution
• Research, design, and implement new transmission equipment and infrastructure upgrades
• Develop engineering standards, specifications, and equipment requirements
• Use PLS-CADD to model and analyze transmission line designs
• Support planning, budgeting, scheduling, construction, and commissioning activities
• Review drawings, specifications, layouts, and vendor submittals
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, construction, and project management teams
• Ensure compliance with NERC, FERC, and CIP requirements
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams
• Engage with industry organizations and forums as needed
