Job summary

PUD #1 of Clallam County in Washington state seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to plan, engineer, and design the district's transmission, distribution, substations and SCADA systems. The role supports long-range planning for capacity, reliability, and efficient operation.

The position requires a BS in Electrical Engineering with a power option preferred and a PE license preferred, plus at least six years of electric utility engineering experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering required; power option preferred.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.
• Minimum six years electric utility engineering experience.
• Experience in wood pole line design, construction and maintenance preferred.
• Experience in substation design, protection and maintenance preferred.
• Working knowledge of CAD and engineering software applications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, engineer, and design construction and maintenance of transmission, distribution, substation, and SCADA systems.
• Assist in short and long range planning for system capacity, reliability and efficient operation.
• Oversee district projects; supervise contractors and inspect work.
• Prepare SEPA applications and obtain permits as necessary.
• Assist in developing and maintaining standards and materials for transmission, distribution, substations, SCADA and metering.
• Manage District’s Outage Management System in support of dispatch and operations crews.
