Job summary

Exo Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to advance overhead line design and field support for utility projects nationwide. You will own defined design components, develop complete design packages, and ensure compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Typically 5–10 years of transmission line engineering or related utility experience.
• FE/EIT certification preferred; Progress toward PE licensure expected.
• Transmission line design knowledge: structures, foundations, conductors, grounding.
• Experience with PLS-CADD and PLS-Pole; familiarity with PLS-Tower.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to coordinate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Perform overhead transmission line engineering and design across voltage classes and project types.
• Own defined design components or smaller work packages; develop pre­sent design packages, including plan and profile drawings; tower design, structural analysis, and foundations.
• Use PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower and related tools under appropriate supervision.
• Coordinate with project managers, designers, clients, construction personnel, inspectors, and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues.
• Apply applicable codes, standards, and engineering practices in work products.
• Perform defined on-site field engineering with periodic guidance and document resolutions for senior review.
• Review or support contractor submittals, RFIs, and turnover packages.
• Identify and document design discrepancies; escalate safety-critical or significant issues.
• Coordinate with field engineers to translate requirements into acceptance criteria and supporting documentation.
• Track deficiencies and support corrective actions; maintain independence in observation vs. engineering decisions.
• Provide informal guidance to Engineer I staff and perform peer checks.
