Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Design Engineer - Transmission Line to design, build and upgrade high-voltage transmission infrastructure. You will perform routing, line structure analysis, sag-tension calculations, and drafting with CAD tools.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and collaboration with project teams to deliver reliable grid solutions. The candidate should have a BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program and 2+ years of HV line

Qualifications

ABET-accredited BS in Civil/Structural Engineering.
2+ years of experience routing and design of high voltage overhead transmission line facilities.
Proficiency with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS.
Experience with power distribution software (PLS-POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD preferred).
Understanding of design codes and standards (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC).
Strong drafting and design fundamentals.

Responsibilities

Perform and oversee engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design, including modeling and routing.
Use CAD software to produce scaled drawings and mapping.
Implement engineering redlines with precision before finalizing drawings.
Conduct calculations (voltage drop, pole loading, fault analysis) and prepare design criteria.
Prepare joint utility use authorizations using field data and redlines.
Maintain project documentation and support engineering calculations.
