Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group is seeking a Design Engineer I to support overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis and loading trees. We design, build, maintain and upgrade high‑voltage transmission infrastructure across communities.

You will use AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS and other CAD tools, implement engineering redlines, perform voltage drop and pole loading calculations, and ensure compliance with NESC, IEEE, ANSI and IBC.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited program in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with CAD tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Support all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and structure analysis.
• Utilize AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and other CAD software for scaled drawings and mapping.
• Implement engineering redlines with precision and ensure accuracy before finalizing drafting/drawing.
• Conduct engineering calculations including voltage drop, pole loading, and other analyses.
• Prepare joint use authorizations based on field data and engineer redlines.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and design standards (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC).
• Maintain project documentation and support engineering calculations.
• Work 40 hours per week with potential overtime.
