Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC is seeking a Design Engineer - Transmission Line to design, build, maintain, and upgrade high-voltage transmission infrastructure. You will work on new construction, line upgrades, and maintenance, ensuring safety, quality, and performance across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 2+ years of experience with routing and design of high voltage overhead transmission line facilities.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar CAD tools.
• Experience with power distribution software (PLS-POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE, MFAD preferred).
• Understanding of design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC.
• Strong knowledge of engineering drafting and design principles.
• Ability to travel as necessary, up to 10% of the time

Responsibilities

• Perform, lead, and oversee all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, structure analysis and loading trees, sag-tension calculations, and related tasks.
• Use AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, and other CAD software for scaled drawings and mapping.
• Implement engineering redlines with precision and ensure accuracy before finalizing drafting/drawing.
• Conduct engineering calculations such as voltage drop, cable pulling, flicker analysis, and pole loading assessments.
• Prepare joint use agreements based on field data and engineer redlines.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and design standards (NESC, IEEE, ANSI, IBC).
• Perform quality reviews and provide recommendations to avoid inaccuracies or omissions.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to develop solutions and modifications.
• Maintain detailed project documentation and support engineering calculations.
• Work 40 hours per week, with potential up to 50 hours and occasional overtime
