Job summary

Pike Electric LLC is seeking a Groundman to support the construction and maintenance of the power grid. You will report to the Foreman and perform physical labor, assist with installing transmission lines, and help maintain equipment and vehicles.

The position requires working outdoors in diverse conditions, willingness to travel, and availability for overtime and on‑call rotations. Pike emphasizes safety, equal opportunity, and a strong commitment to its workforce.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain a CDL within 60 days.
• Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.
• Lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work extended hours including weekends, holidays, and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform new construction, maintain and repair de‑energized powerlines with safety first.
• Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.
• Perform rigorous physical labor and regularly lift heavy tools and equipment.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order.
• Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, incl. extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
• Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on-call rotation.
• Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Follow all safety protocols and understand when to wear PPE.
