Job summary

Versant Power is seeking a T&D Project Manager to oversee transmission and distribution projects in northern and eastern Maine. The role leads cross-functional teams, manages contractors, and ensures on-time, on-budget delivery with strong governance and safety compliance.

The position emphasizes detailed planning, stakeholder coordination, and financial analysis to support strategic decision making. Usual hours are 40–50 per week, with potential field visits and occasional evening meetings.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in project management, transmission/distribution line or substation operations.
• Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
• Excellent communication, scheduling, forecasting and planning skills.
• Experience managing contractors and contract documents preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides project management and leadership for transmission and distribution projects, managing internal and external resources.
• Leads multi-disciplined teams through development, preparation and execution phases including cost estimates and approvals.
• Responsible for project governance including scope, budgets, forecasts, controls and closure.
• Maintains project records in SharePoint and uses Microsoft Project to schedule and coordinate work.
• Develops and negotiates contracts with vendors and subcontractors with the Projects Coordinator and Legal Department.
• Supports business case development, financial analysis and decision making.
