Job summary

Versant Power is seeking a T&D Project Manager to lead the development and construction of transmission and distribution projects in northern and eastern Maine. You will manage multi-disciplined teams, contractors, budgets, and schedules to ensure on-time, within-scope delivery.

The role requires five years of PM experience in utility operations, strong analytical skills, and excellent communication. Travel to field sites and coordination with municipalities and stakeholders are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of experience in project management.
• Experience in transmission/distribution line or substation operations.
• Strong planning, scheduling, forecasting and analysis.
• Excellent written and spoken communication; public speaking.
• Experience managing contractors and contract documents preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Formal education degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides project management and leadership expertise in the development and construction of transmission and distribution projects. Manage contractors and field teams.
• Leads multi-disciplined teams through development, preparation, and execution phases including cost estimates, permits, ROW, procurement, contracts, construction management, and safety oversight.
• Manage project governance: scope, budgets, forecasts, approvals, controls, and closure.
• Maintain project records and use MS Project/SharePoint to schedule, track, and coordinate.
• Develop contracts with Legal; conduct bid processes and contract negotiations.
• Provide business analysis, prepare business cases, and support management decisions.
• Ensure safety, EMS compliance, and environmental procedures are followed.
• Oversee internal/external field construction managers and coordination with utility operations.
