Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager in Wallingford, CT to assist the Construction Project Manager, Site Manager, and EPC PM with day-to-day management of safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and procurement on electrical substation, transmission & distribution, and power generation projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 3 years of construction experience, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 3 years of relevant construction experience or equivalent.
• Experience with document control, scheduling, cost control and project management software preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management of project safety, quality, schedule, cost control, contracts, and procurement.
• Support development and implementation of project plans and procedures (Safety, QA, Subcontracting, Staffing, Procurement).
• Contribute to bid/proposal activities, RFPs, and subcontractor selection/awards.
• Assist with cost reporting, scheduling, and cash flow reporting at project and corporate levels.
• Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and client interfaces to execute EPC projects.
