Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a General Superintendent to lead on-site construction and administration for a major project in Wallingford, CT.

You will supervise discipline teams, enforce safety and project procedures, coordinate meetings, review reports and payments, and drive timely, quality completion.

This role requires strong leadership, client communication, and the ability to interpret drawings and manage field instrumentation for successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 13+ years in construction management or craft supervision on a similar project.
• Or an Associate's degree with 15+ years experience; or a High School diploma with 17+ years.
• General understanding of all construction disciplines; strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day on-site administrative and construction processes.
• Ensure safety compliance with Safety and Health Plans; audit PTAs and TSOs.
• Lead field meetings including safety, coordination and schedule sessions.
• Enforce project procedures, client requirements, and quality standards.
• Interface with client representatives, authorities and subcontractors to execute projects.
• Review progress reports, subcontractor payments and field documents; manage progress tracking.
