Wycliffe Associates is working on Bible translation projects for deaf and blind individuals worldwide, using SUN (Symbolic Universal Notation), a symbol-based writing system that provides immediate Scripture access to the deaf and deaf-blind.

Approximately 600,000 people worldwide are both deaf and blind. Since they cannot use audio, a system using universally recognized pictures and symbols was created to convey meaning, resulting in SUN.

We seek native or bilingual Tamil speakers to translate an English training manual into Tamil. These manuals will assist teachers working with the deaf and blind in Tamil-speaking regions. Basic computer skills, fluency in English and Tamil, and familiarity with Word and Excel are required. The work is remote, requiring internet access, and involves about 10-12 hours per week. The manual is 26 pages, and we hope you can serve until the project is completed, potentially over a few months. Your language skills will help bring the Gospel to the deaf and blind!
