Job summary

Genentech’s CVRM Translational Biology group in South San Francisco seeks a motivated scientist to advance cardiometabolic disease research by executing in vivo rodent experiments and analyzing data. You will join a fast-paced, cross-disciplinary team to generate actionable results and guide follow-up studies.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in pharmacology/biology or related field (or Master’s with 4+ years) and bring hands-on cardiovascular modeling, rodent handling, and ELN documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacology, biology, or related fields with 6+ years of lab experience, OR a Master’s with 4+ years in industry or academia.
• Detail-oriented researcher focused on disease modeling to accelerate research.
• Hands-on experience with cardiovascular models and phenotyping; proficient in survival surgical skills.
• Experience with rodent handling and various administration routes (IV, IP, IM, SC); blood sampling and tissue harvest.

Responsibilities

• Establish and conduct experiments in rodent models and optimize disease modeling approaches.
• Generate high-quality data to meet timelines and project goals.
• Communicate findings at project meetings and prioritize follow-up studies.
• Apply scientific knowledge to solve project challenges and stay updated with literature.
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Maintain accurate ELN records and document complex data for reproducibility.
