Job summary

Genentech is seeking a highly motivated PhD-level scientist in the CVRM Translational Biology group to lead pharmacology efforts that drive drug discovery and development. Qualifications

• PhD in Pharmacology, Biology or related field with 3+ years post‑graduate experience
• Knowledge in cardio-metabolic disease field with strong in‑vivo background
• Hands‑on experience with cardiovascular models and phenotyping (echo, catheterization) to inform CVRM biology and drug discovery
• Leader from the bench with ability to mentor others
• Multitask effectively and communicate across multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Provide scientific and technical hands‑on support for in vivo and ex vivo studies in cardiovascular, renal, obesity, and metabolic models to advance drug candidates
• Plan and execute experiments, develop protocols, document data, troubleshoot problems, interpret data and communicate results
• Advise on technical or project strategy as appropriate
• Mentor and train junior members to be scientifically proficient
• Manage CRO studies, evaluate data, and assist with regulatory submissions documents
• Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams and communicate timelines and results
