Job summary

Via is seeking a General Manager to lead the Montgomery on-site operations of its intermodal transit service. This is not a role with a fixed playbook; you will be building the plane while flying it, blending entrepreneurship, business development and operations management in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experienced operations manager, with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience.
• Independent self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments with a high level of responsibility.
• Savvy and tactful communicator with the ability to set the right tone in every situation.
• Desire to foster a culture of world-class customer service.
• Detail-oriented executor who thrives operating autonomously.
• Experienced and exceptional leader with track record of leading support teams.
• Flexible and adaptable, able to change rapidly and make things work on the fly.
• Proven ability to manage teams for 3-5 years and develop people.

Responsibilities

• Manage the on-site daily operations of Via’s service in Montgomery.
• Prioritize operational issues as a real-time point of contact for drivers and dispatchers and provide creative solutions for scheduling of a round the clock team.
• Manage and mentor the on-site team of dispatchers and shift managers.
• Be the face of the operation; develop relationships with driver partners, customers, community leaders, and local organizations.
• Liaise closely with Via senior management and Via’s external partners.
• Develop clear metrics for the team and visibility into results against KPIs and priorities to the on a weekly basis.
• Prepare reports and analyze data to improve operational processes, ensure resources are properly allocated, and maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, local and company policies, procedures and regulations on service operations.
• Lead, coach and develop an engaged team of drivers, fostering a collaborative, cohesive, and energetic environment.
