Job summary

Klamath Tribal Health is seeking a Transitional Emergency Shelter Guest Host in Klamath Falls, Oregon. This full-time, non-management position supports individuals temporarily housed in the TES, ensuring a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment.

The role requires strong confidentiality practices, coordination with behavioral health resources, and the ability to work evenings, overnights, and alternate shifts. Indian Preference applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent within two years of hire.
• If in recovery from substance use, a minimum of two years in recovery.
• Model a clean and sober lifestyle on and off the job.
• Must have computer experience; MS Word/Excel proficiency.
• Background and character investigation required per tribal policy.
• Annual TB skin testing; comply with immunization policy.
• BLS certification within 180 days of hire; certification encouraged within 90 days.
• Must be a Mandatory Reporter per tribal policy.
• Must not be excluded from Federal health care benefits (Medicare/Medicaid).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe environment at all times.
• Perform perimeter and fire checks per TES supervisor guidelines.
• Connect participants to recovery resources and support services.
• Collaborate with TES team for participants with low engagement in case management.
• Assist participants seeking behavioral health or substance abuse treatment.
• Serve meals and maintain dining area and community center.
• Maintain required documentation and logs.
• Be flexible with irregular hours and on-call shifts.
