Job summary

Community Partners in Action in Hartford, CT is seeking a Human Services Worker for a part-time, second-shift role at Hartford Transitional Housing. You will supervise residents, ensure safety, and support daily living activities. The position requires a HS diploma or higher; prior experience with justice-involved clients and substance use or mental health issues is preferred.

Bilingual Spanish/English is desirable. A CT driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, and an associate or bachelor’s degree.
• Prior experience in human services with justice-involved clients with substance abuse, mental health or related issues preferred.
• Must have a valid CT driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Weekend/holiday availability and flexibility to work additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and monitor resident activities following program policies; maintain a safe environment.
• Advocate for participants to encourage participation and accountability.
• Mediated conflicts and resolve issues using a solutions-focused approach.
• Maintain professional boundaries with residents, staff, and visitors at all times.
• Model professional conduct and ethics in all interactions; manage phones and front-desk interactions.
• Assist with meeting resident needs and uphold agency policies.
• Record incidents and maintain shift logs; report to supervisors.
