Job summary

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners' Transit division seeks a dependable Transit Van Driver to operate 8-passenger (or less) buses and minivans safely and on schedule. You will follow traffic laws, use a county-issued tablet, and assist passengers including those with mobility challenges.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Florida driver license, a clean driving record, and successful completion of background checks and DOT screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three or more years of professional passenger-vehicle driving preferred.
• Valid Florida driver license; non-CDL considered at lower pay rate.

Responsibilities

• Operate county vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic laws and schedules.
• Use a County-issued tablet to access routes, manifests, and service updates.
• Load/unload, secure wheelchair, and assist passengers with mobility needs.
• Complete electronic documentation including passenger check-ins and incidents.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report issues promptly.
