The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an on-call CASUAL LABOR Transit Van Driver to safely operate 14-passenger or smaller buses and vans in Citrus County, Florida. The role requires adherence to traffic laws, safety rules, and schedules, and is safety sensitive with random drug testing.

Key duties include operating a county vehicle, using a county tablet for routes and logs, assisting passengers, performing inspections, and submitting electronic trip data and incident

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Experience driving passenger vehicles in a professional setting required; three or more years preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.

Responsabilités

• Operate a county vehicle safely while following schedules and traffic laws.
• Use a County-issued tablet to access routes, manifests, and updates; log data promptly.
• Load/unload and assist with wheelchair passengers as needed.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; report defects.
• Complete electronic documentation including trip data and incidents.
• Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch; handle stress and interruptions.
• Adhere to safety policies and participate in emergency response activities.
