Job summary

Citrus County Government seeks a Transit Driver to safely operate county Transit vehicles and adhere to schedules. The role requires CDL with Passenger Endorsement, a clean driving record, and the ability to assist passengers, including those who are elderly or disabled.

Responsibilities include using a county tablet for routes and data entry, performing inspections, and maintaining documentation. The driver must work Monday–Friday with bid-based hours and comply with DOT requirements.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• 3+ years of experience driving passenger vehicles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate Citrus County Transit vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic laws.
• Use a county-issued tablet to access routes, manifests, and schedules; follow real-time updates.
• Assist passengers, including those who are elderly or disabled, during boarding and alighting.
• Complete electronic trip data, mileage, service notes, and incident reports.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any issues.
• Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch; manage interruptions and changes in routes.
