Job summary

Ramos CS, now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, seeks a Project Engineer to perform a wide variety of professional engineering work in a field setting on a transit capital program's TPSS portfolio. The role involves field oversight of construction, installation, and commissioning, and coordinating with authorities, states, and contractors to ensure compliance and quality.

Responsibilities include safety oversight, inspections, documentation, and assisting in change orders and design reviews

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer is preferred. Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification acceptable in lieu of PE.
  • Approximately 7+ years of field/construction experience on traction power / TPSS systems, including installation oversight, testing, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety of Authority, State, and Contractor personnel and the traveling public; observe operations and take corrective action.
  • Review contractor operations for OSHA and electrical safety requirements.
  • Perform field inspections for compliance with plans, specs, and TPSS integration requirements.
  • Witness and document equipment installation, terminations, grounding, relay settings verification, and commissioning.
  • Prepare daily progress reports and manage contract records in line with regulations.
  • Assist in development of contract change orders and field condition solutions.
