Job summary

The City of Eau Claire is seeking a Transit Supervisor to oversee daily operations, train and supervise Bus Operators, and respond to incidents to ensure safe, reliable transit for the community.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, maintaining certifications, and collaborating with the Transit Manager on strategic initiatives. This role demands strong leadership and a working knowledge of transit procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED, etc.)
• Must possess or obtain within 6 months of hire and maintain a Wisconsin Class B CDL with no air brake restrictions and P endorsement
• Two years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.), and training in a professional setting

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct essential training for new hires and existing staff and ensure training procedures are up to date and in compliance with Federal and State regulations.
• Maintain proper certifications (CDL, and Defensive Driving Course) and ensure proper certification of staff.
• Schedule daily Bus Operators’ assignments and tri-annual run picks.
• Answer telephone calls and assist customers over the phone as needed.
• Handle disciplinary issues with Bus Operators.
• Assist in procurement of training equipment and materials.
• Coordinate and participate in community outreach, including volunteer coordination, tours, marketing projects, and communicating with the public through social media and updating website.
• Develop and facilitate employee engagement including innovation committee, safety team, etc.
