Job summary

GRTC is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician in Richmond, VA to monitor and maintain bus stop locations, shelters, and amenities. The role involves cleaning, inspections, and minor installations using a range of tools and equipment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and hands-on experience with cleaning and repair equipment, along with a safe driving record and ability to follow instructions. Some duties require night/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with cleaning and operating basic repair equipment and tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor transit stops, stations, and amenities.
• Clean and maintain locations using steam cleaning equipment and detergents.
• Clear debris, snow, and address emergencies at locations.
• Inspect locations, assess conditions, and submit work orders for repairs.
• Install bus stop fixtures using drawings and blueprints; pour concrete pads when needed.
• Operate and maintain tools; drive trucks and trailers delivering equipment.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate with Maintenance for repairs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
