Job summary

Qualifications

• Three or more years of progressive training or supervisory experience in a public transportation environment.
• Familiar with DOT policies, OSHA, NIMS, EPA standards, and ADA requirements.
• Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, DHS, and FTA rules and regulations; ability to interpret regulations.
• Experience training qualified candidates for employment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Must read/write/speak English; basic math skills.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Able to work in a union environment.
• Must know the geographical area.
• Able to conduct oral presentations and relay technical information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Conducts on-board evaluations and in-service training to employees.
• Provides classroom training.
• Provides behind-the-wheel training and re-training as directed.
• Provides appropriate feedback to employees.
• Completes documentation forms per regulatory and company requirements.
• Conduct daily evaluations and inspections on vehicles.
• Schedule and conduct employee safety evaluations with Safety and Training Managers.
• Maintain files pertaining to evaluations, training, safety and loss matters.
• Investigate, report and recommend on hazardous locations or events.
• Coordinate and facilitate assigned safety training processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
