Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Safety and Training Manager in California to lead safety programs and oversee OSHA/CDL compliance at the division level. The role requires hands-on leadership to ensure training standards and safety policies meet state and federal regulations.

The position emphasizes coordinating with claims teams, audits, and cross-department collaboration to drive a proactive safety culture and reduce incidents.

Qualifications

• Transit safety experience.
• Experience working in transit, preferably urban public.
• College Degree or five (5) + years of safety management experience.
• Certifications such as CDS/CSP or TSI Instructor are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Sets the tone for ensuring all operators are current with training requirements of company and contract.
• Ensures all safety manuals, programs, policies and practices are current and meet operating division needs.
• Resides as the expert in EPA and OSHA, CDL compliance and regulations.
• Ensures new hires meet minimum general qualifications including background and DMV checks.
• Manages safety technology tools, analyzes trends and develops plans to reduce incidents.
• Oversees safety incentives and programs, including Safety Points.
• Promotes a consistent safety culture across locations.
