Job summary

WeDriveU in Chicago, IL, is seeking a Safety Manager to develop and enforce safety compliance for our transit programs, aligning with DOT/OSHA/CAL-OSHA regulations and client needs. You will design, implement and oversee training, supervise driver trainers, recruit and prepare applicants, perform on-going evaluations and lead regular safety meetings.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, CDL B with Passenger, supervisory experience, and 3 years in transportation training;

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent; some college is preferred.
• 3 years of trainer experience in transportation is desired.
• CDL B with Passenger endorsement is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, design, and implement driver training programs.
• Supervise driver trainers and set objectives and schedules.
• Recruit and train applicants to become drivers.
• Provide classroom and behind-the-wheel training for applicants and drivers.
• Provide ongoing training and performance evaluations for all Driver employees.
• Administer drug/alcohol testing program and related procedures.
• Develop and conduct regular Driver Safety Meetings.
• Respond to accidents with on-scene investigation and reporting per policy.
• Investigate safety-related customer service issues and take corrective action.
• Administer the Safe Driver Award program.
