Job summary

WeDriveU in Lansing, IL is seeking a Safety Manager to develop, oversee, and enforce safety compliance for our transit program and DOT/OSHA/CAL-OSHA requirements. You will prepare the workforce for client needs and lead safety initiatives across our operations.

The role includes designing training programs, supervising driver trainers, recruiting and developing drivers, and managing the company drug/alcohol testing program. A strong background in safety leadership and transportation is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of trainer experience in transportation preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred; able to lead driver trainers.
• Strong MS Office and transportation software skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver safety training programs and driver evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, design, and implement initial and recurrent safety training for transportation personnel.
• Supervise driver trainers and set objectives, schedules, and performance expectations.
• Recruit and train new drivers and ensure successful training completion.
• Provide classroom and behind-the-wheel training and evaluate driver performance.
• Administer drug/alcohol testing programs as required.
• Conduct safety meetings and respond to incidents with proper reporting.
