Job summary

Ben Franklin Transit in the Tri-Cities region is seeking a Safety Manager to lead agency safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive a proactive culture of safety and continuous improvement.

The role provides direction to Safety Specialists, develops safety initiatives, and collaborates across the agency to reduce injuries, oversee audits, and maintain OSHA and IIPP programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations including OSHA requirements.
• Knowledge of accident investigation, root cause analysis, safety programs, emergency preparedness, and risk management.
• Skill in analyzing safety data, identifying trends, and developing corrective actions.
• Skill in conducting safety training, meetings, audits, and accident reviews.
• Skill in supervising and providing direction to safety staff.

Responsibilities

• Oversee investigation of incidents, accidents, and work-related injuries and follow up with claims office.
• Plan, schedule, and conduct monthly safety meetings and accident reviews.
• Provide reports and analyses including safety trends and cost-saving recommendations.
• Ensure compliance for all safety programs (OSHA, IIPP, APP, hazard communications).
• Monitor regulatory changes and recommend policy updates.
• Oversee security and emergency preparedness programs.
