Job summary

Ben Franklin Transit seeks a seasoned manager to oversee daily coach-operator operations and ensure compliance with all laws, agency policies, and bargaining agreements. You will supervise staff, plan runs, monitor safety, and contribute to the annual budget while addressing passenger concerns and service reliability.

Ideal candidates have a degree in a related field and several years of management experience in transit or a similar setting, with a valid driver’s license and strong collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field from an accredited institution.
• Three years of progressive responsibility in a related field and management level experience; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan, assign and supervise staff to enhance service quality; participate in interviewing; train and evaluate performance.
• Monitor daily operations to ensure staffing, inventory, and vehicle availability.
• Develop fixed route schedules (runcutting) and ensure compliance with union agreements and service guarantees.
• Maintain service and public safety; address safety concerns and delays.
• Prepare annual operating budget; forecast staffing and equipment needs; approve expenditures.
• Participate in policy development and program priorities; prepare reports and meetings.
