Job summary

New Orleans Regional Transit Authority is seeking a Transportation Planner to administer the development and maintenance of short- and long-range transit service plans, coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

The role will lead projects, coordinate Title VI reporting, analyze ridership and land use data, and help integrate bus and rail services, with opportunities to guide service modifications and improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban planning, transportation planning, engineering, or related field.
• 5 years experience in transit, transportation, urban planning, or a related field.
• Masters degree in urban planning, transportation planning, engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager for assigned projects and studies, overseeing the work effort and the management of consultants and contractors.
• Lead preparation of the agency's Title VI report and assist in Title VI compliance.
• Monitor, review, and contribute to the maintenance and updating of transit elements of the regional short and long-range transportation plan.
• Coordinate research and analysis into alternative transit systems planning.
• Coordinate with local and regional governmental and non-governmental agencies and partners on transit-related projects.
• Assist in the maintenance of data files and transit planning resource materials.
• Prepare documents and reports for internal and external purposes.
• Conduct background research and data collection to support recommendations for new service, service modifications, and service discontinuations.

Education
