Job summary

MTS is seeking a Manager of Planning and Analytics to lead service planning, evaluate performance, and propose improvements to transit services. You will oversee advanced analytical capabilities and coordinate with bus, rail, and contract service teams to implement changes in line with regulatory requirements.

The role requires strong knowledge of transportation systems, policy analysis, and data‑driven decision making, with responsibilities including leading public outreach and presenting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, engineering, geography, urban studies or related field.
• Five years of full‑time professional work experience in transit planning and/or transit operations with increasing responsibilities.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn MTS policies, NEPA/CEQA, Title VI and EJ requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversees planning tasks, evaluates performance of services, and proposes improvements to transit service quality and efficiency.
• Develops proposals for transit service based on evaluations and regional goals.
• Organizes public meetings and outreach activities to obtain community input on MTS projects.
• Presents oral and written reports to governmental bodies and the public.
• Coordinates with area transit operators, agencies, and community groups.
• Leads the advancement of analytical capabilities (GIS, data analytics).
