Job summary

Metropolitan Transit System seeks a Manager of Planning and Analytics to lead service planning, evaluate performance, and propose improvements to transit quality and efficiency. The role requires advanced knowledge of transportation systems, policy analysis, and data‑driven decision making.

The position oversees analytical capabilities in GIS and data projects, manages staff, and coordinates with multiple departments to implement changes in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in transportation planning, engineering, geography, urban studies or related field.
• Five years of full‑time professional work experience in transit planning and/or transit operations.
• Knowledge of NEPA, CEQA, Title VI, EJ and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervises staff and consultants in planning activities.
• Evaluates performance of existing services and analyzes trends.
• Conducts bus and rail service studies and recommends improvements.
• Oversees development of transportation plans and programs.
• Leads public outreach programs and community meetings.
• Prepares oral and written reports for governmental bodies and the public.
• Coordinates with area transit operators and stakeholders.
