Job summary

Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee bus operations, manage coaches, and ensure reliable service across transit routes from base to on-street operations.

The role requires overseeing 24/7 operations, coordinating staff across shifts, and enforcing DOT safety and agency policies while maintaining high service levels for riders in the Denton area. Position is based at the Bus Operations Facility in Lewisville, TX.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Associates' Degree and three years of supervisory/management experience in public transit preferred.
• Must possess a valid, unrestricted Class B CDL with P endorsement for public passenger transport.

Responsibilities

• Manages coach operators and assigns runs and schedules to meet on-time performance.
• Dispatches extra-board operators and optimizes staffing across all bus routes daily.
• Maintains 24/7 communication with operations leadership to manage service status and issues.
• Develops and enforces safety policies and procedures for daily transit operations.
• Trains and mentors operators, documents performance, and addresses disciplinary actions as needed.
• Coordinates detours, incidents, and service recovery to minimize disruptions for customers.
