Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a General Manager to provide leadership and strategic direction at the assigned operating location, ensuring delivery of annual business plans and compliant operations.

You will drive daily contract operations, safety programs, fleet availability, and client relations while managing budgets and ensuring regulatory compliance. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential to mentor staff and meet performance metrics.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent business management experience.
• Management experience required.
• 5+ years of operations management; 7+ years in a transit environment; knowledge of Trapeze scheduling software.
• Labor/union negotiations/expenses expertise.
• Understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and DOT/FTA compliance.
• MS Office, analytical skills, written and verbal communication, high multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach programs.
• Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff.
• Communicate with location staff and support team members.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and fleet availability to meet service requirements.
• Oversee safety and training programs to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain client contact to meet or exceed expectations.
• Conduct periodic departmental audits.
• Review key operational metrics daily, weekly, and monthly.
• Ensure location financial metrics are managed, with action plans for financial, safety, and operational targets.
• Implement and adhere to company policies and procedures.
