Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum five years’ experience managing an operation of similar size and scope.
• Four-year or advanced college degree in a related major is required.
• Industry certifications are highly desirable.
• Must have a demonstrated history in managing bus operations or multimodal systems with oversight of fleet, maintenance, scheduling, and customer service operations.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to collaborate with unionized staff and manage labor relations is desirable.
• Must excel at written and verbal communications, have strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop solutions to operational challenges through planning and implementation.
• Must have familiarity with State and FTA regulations for transit operations is essential.
• Must have a full understanding of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, and safety DOT and FTA compliance.
• MS Office, strong analytical skills, and high degree of multi-tasking skills.
• Additional duties/responsibilities based upon individual contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage customer relations and outreach programs.
• Identify, select, train, and mentor location staff.
• Communicate with location staff and support team members.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance plan and fleet availability.
• Oversee safety and training programs to ensure compliance.
• Maintain client contact to meet or exceed expectations.
• Conduct periodic departmental audits.
• Review key operational metrics daily, weekly and monthly.
• Ensure location financial metrics are managed, with action plans for performance.
• Implement and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Engage with bridges committee to improve policies and programs.
• Participate in location labor and employee relations activities.
• Provide insight to support location contract renewals.
• Create and present location budgets.
