Job summary

MV Transportation is seeking a Fixed Route General Manager to lead the California operating location and ensure delivery of annual business plans. The role oversees daily contract operations in line with agency and company policies.

Responsibilities include managing customer relations, staffing, dispatch coordination, fleet maintenance, safety training, and maintaining financial, safety and operational metrics to meet targets. Salary starts at $133,000 and can go to $150,000.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent business management experience.
• Minimum five years of managerial experience supervising a fixed-cost transit property or equivalent operation in the past seven years.
• Labor/union negotiations/expenses expertise.
• Knowledge of dispatch, scheduling, driver recruitment, safety, DOT and FTA compliance.
• MS Office, analytical skills, written and verbal communication, multitasking.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer relations through direct contact and outreach.
• Identify, hire and mentor location staff.
• Communicate with location staff and support teams.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance and fleet availability to meet service requirements.
• Oversee safety and training programs to comply with contract and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain client contact to meet or exceed expectations.
• Conduct departmental audits.
• Review operational metrics daily, weekly and monthly.
• Ensure location maintains financial, safety and operational targets.
• Implement and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Participate in labor relations activities.
• Provide insights to support locations.
