Job summary

Transdev North America is seeking a Maintenance Manager based in Vallejo, CA to oversee mechanics, bus washers, utility workers, and admin staff across multi-shift operations. You will approve maintenance priorities, manage outside vendors, and drive safe, reliable fleet performance.

The role requires a CDL Class B (or higher) with endorsements preferred, 7+ years in heavy-duty transit maintenance and 3+ years in supervision, plus strong MS Office skills and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid CDL Class B (or higher) with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred.
• 7+ years maintenance experience on heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.
• 3+ years supervisory experience.
• Broad understanding of mechanical systems in heavy-duty transit vehicles.
• Familiarity with laws and regulations for maintenance facilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication.
• Flexible to work shifts as needed; DOT drug testing rules apply.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and schedule Maintenance Technicians.
• Prioritize maintenance and repairs based on parts availability and operations.
• Coordinate work by outside vendors.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and operating efficiently.
• Manage inventory and budgets for the department.
• Implement safety policies per corporate requirements.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery methods.
• Travel 70-80% outside the immediate area.
