Job summary

Transdev North America, Inc. in Concord, CA is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead the fleet maintenance program, ensuring safe, reliable operation of all vehicles and adherence to budgets.

You will supervise supervisors, advise upper management on maintenance issues, and drive process improvement across shop operations. The role requires extensive hands-on leadership, experience generating reports, and coordinating with vendors to schedule maintenance, repairs, and inventory control while

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required.
• The ability to obtain a CDL Class B with passenger endorsements (Onsite CDL training available).
• 7 years or more of progressively responsible experience in repair and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles, including at least 3 years of supervisory experience.
• ASE certifications required or able to obtain within 180 days.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Broad understanding of mechanical systems related to heavy-duty and paratransit vehicles.
• Familiarity with safety laws and regulations for maintenance facilities.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply safety rules, instructions, and diagrams; MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Schedules employees for the department and supervises shop staff.
• Selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates personnel.
• Coordinates work by outside vendors.
• Oversees repair schedules and reviews cost estimates.
• Prioritizes maintenance and repairs based on material availability and operations.
• Ensures equipment is maintained and operating efficiently.
• Monitors inventory and manages budget.
• Ensures vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and functioning properly.
