Job summary

Transdev North America, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Manager to oversee day‑to‑day functions of mechanics, bus washers, utility workers, and staff in Seaside, CA. The role supports three shifts to ensure timely maintenance, tests, inspections, and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities include staffing, prioritizing repairs, vendor coordination, inventory management, safety policy enforcement, and budget participation. DOT compliance and safety are essential to operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid CDL Class B (or higher) with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred.
• 7+ years experience in repair and maintenance of heavy‑duty automotive and transit equipment.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience.
• Broad understanding of mechanical systems related to heavy‑duty transportation vehicles.
• Familiarity with laws & regulations for safe operation of maintenance facilities (DOT).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Available to work shifts and flexible schedules as needed.
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical; DOT 49 CFR Part 40 compliance.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and schedule Maintenance Technicians.
• Approve priority of maintenance and repairs based on parts/materials availability and operations.
• Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside vendors.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and operating efficiently.
• Manage inventory.
• Implement safety policies and procedures for the department.
• Participate in development and administration of the operational budget.
• Identify opportunities for improving service delivery methods.
• Other duties as required.
