Job summary

Transdev in Vallejo, CA is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead daily transit operations, supervise staff and drivers, and coordinate service delivery with internal and external customers. The role requires driving alignment with safety, maintenance, and safety training teams.

The position calls for 3+ years of supervisory transit experience, strong knowledge of transit regulations, and proficiency in MS Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years transit supervisory experience.
• Thorough knowledge of transit regulations and operations.
• Proficient in MS Word/Excel and relevant database programs.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work with labor and negotiate when needed.
• Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details
• Ability to work effectively with labor; which may include labor grievances and negotiations
• Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Responsibilities

• Supervises daily activities of operators and coordinates supervisors/dispatch personnel.
• Oversees scheduling of operators and monitors operations.
• Collaborates with maintenance to meet service requirements.
• Tracks performance, resolves interdepartmental issues, and improves routes.
• Makes hiring decisions for authorized roles and evaluates staff performance.
• Assists in accident/incident investigations and safety training coordination.
• Develops the operations budget.
• May operate a vehicle in revenue service if necessary.
• Travel up to 10% outside the immediate area.
• Other duties as required.
• Travel requirement outside of immediate area (10%).
