Job summary

Transdev Vallejo, CA is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee day-to-day functions of mechanics, bus washers, utility workers and administrative staff. The role supports three-shift operations, ensures DOT/compliance standards and maintains equipment across the fleet.

Responsibilities include hiring, training and scheduling maintenance technicians, coordinating with vendors, managing inventory, and implementing safety and budgeting processes. Travel to sites can reach 70–80% as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• CDL Class B (or higher) with passenger and airbrake endorsements preferred.
• 7+ years in repair and maintenance of heavy‑duty automotive and transit equipment.
• 3+ years supervisory experience.
• Broad understanding of mechanical systems in heavy‑duty transport.
• Familiarity with laws and regulations for maintenance facilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work shifts or flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train and schedule Maintenance Technicians.
• Prioritize maintenance and repairs based on materials and operations.
• Coordinate and oversee work by outside vendors.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and operating efficiently.
• Manage inventory.
• Implement safety policies per corporate requirements.
• Contribute to budgeting and operational planning.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery methods.
• Other duties as required.
