Job summary

Prince George’s County Government seeks a Transit Fleet Compliance & Maintenance Manager (Planner 4G) to lead maintenance compliance and fleet modernization within the Office of Transportation Planning/Innovations Division. The role advises the Section Chief on fleet condition, risk management, and contractor performance, coordinating with Safety, Operations and Risk Management.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in business or public administration, urban and regional planning, environmental studies, economics, energy policy, urban studies, housing and community development, public health or closely related field.
Minimum of three years of responsible professional planning/program development experience with at least one year of lead/supervisory experience.
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Oversee maintenance compliance with DOT, FTA, OSHA, and applicable state and local regulations.
Conduct PMI audits and oversee third-party inspection contractors.
Identify maintenance deficiencies, perform root-cause analyses, and ensure timely corrective actions.
Coordinate with Safety, Operations, and Risk Management on maintenance safety concerns.
Lead long-range fleet replacement planning and lifecycle-based budgeting.
Develop technical specifications for fleet procurements and evaluate new technologies.
Monitor warranty compliance and pursue warranty recovery.
Maintain asset condition records to support TAM and State of Good Repair.
