Job summary

Asheville Rides Transit (ART) seeks a Road Supervisor to act as the primary field safety leader for bus operators and field personnel in the Asheville area. The role covers accident response, safety observations, coaching, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe and reliable service.

Responsibilities include evaluating operators, supporting training, and providing real-time field support while maintaining professional communication with dispatch, maintenance, and leadership.

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Public transportation or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills important for field operations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to accidents, incidents, and service disruptions; secure scenes and coordinate with responders.
• Coach and evaluate Bus Operators through field observations and performance monitoring.
• Support field operations and coordinate with Dispatch, Maintenance, and management staff.
• Represent the agency professionally with customers and stakeholders in the field.
• Complete required reports and ensure compliance with safety standards.
