Job summary

Horrocks seeks a Senior Transit Engineer or Project Manager to lead transit design efforts across the mountain west from Seattle, WA. You will manage projects for state DOTs, transit agencies, and cities, guiding design from concept through construction documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure (required).
• 10+ years of transit experience (preferred).
• Strong background in transit design (rail, BRT, multi-modal).
• Experience with public transit agencies or clients.
• Ability to lead or support client maintenance and business development.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving ability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Thrives in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Have project management, design management, or lead design experience on transit-focused projects.
• Lead design efforts from concept-level through construction documents and cost estimates.
• Coordinate meetings and communications to resolve technical issues.
• Develop and review submittals for standards compliance.
• Prepare calculations, reports, memos, drawings, and visual aids.
• Assist in maintaining project controls and documentation.
• Support transit growth via client and business development activities.
