Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Senior Transit Engineer or Project Manager to lead transit design efforts across heavy rail, light rail, and bus rapid transit projects. The role will involve coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and ensuring constructible, compliant designs.

Based in Houston, TX, you will work with state DOTs, transit agencies, and cities while driving project delivery and strategic growth. A PE license and a civil engineering degree are required with 10+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or closely related field required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience in transit design including rail, BRT, or multimodal.
• Ability to lead and/or support client maintenance and business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts from concept through ready-for-construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate meetings, action items, and communications with a focus on resolving technical questions and issues.
• Develop and review submittals for compliance with standards and design criteria.
• Prepare engineering-related calculations, reports, memos, drawings, and visual aids.
• Assist in maintaining project controls and documentation.
• Support transit strategic growth initiatives through client and business development activities.
