Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Senior Transit Engineer or Project Manager in Dallas, TX to lead transit design efforts for heavy rail, light rail, and BRT projects. The role includes managing design from concept through construction documents and estimates, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or closely related field (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (required).
• 10+ years of relevant experience (preferred).
• Experience with transit design including light/heavy rail or BRT.
• Experience with public transit agencies.
• Ability to lead and support client maintenance and business development.
• Entrepreneurial spirit and problem-solving mindset.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Collaborative and team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts from concept through construction documents and cost estimates.
• Coordinate meetings and resolve technical questions and issues.
• Develop and review submittals for compliance with standards and design criteria.
• Prepare engineering calculations, reports, memos, drawings, and visual aids.
• Assist in maintaining project controls and documentation.
• Support transit strategic growth initiatives through client and business development.
